The PTSO is your parent, teacher, student, school support organization. We work toward the common vision of a cooperative educational partnership encompassing the student, the home, the school, and the community.
Who?
All members of the McKean community are invited to attend. Come to a meeting or work behind the scenes.
Why?
To foster communication and understanding among the school community of students, parents, faculty, administrators, and neighbors.
When and Where?
Meetings are held in the McKean Library the last Wednesday of the month, from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
How?
The PTSO provides a monthly forum where parents and students have a voice in the discussion of school issues.
What?
• Host 2 Teacher Appreciation Days each year (August & February) • Speak at McKean open houses • Organize and decorate for After Prom • Fundraising: New for 2010-2011
o Family nights/fundraisers planned at Friendly’s, Charcoal Pit, Buffalo Wild Wings o Placement of paper recycling containers in upper parking lot o Arrange for flower sales at graduation
• Represent McKean at RCPAC (Red Clay Parent Advisory Council) • Participate in monthly McKean BLT (Building Leadership Teams) meetings

Students $3.00 Staff $5.00 Family $10.00 (Students are automatically members if their family joins.)
All money collected from dues, donations, and fundraisers stays at McKean.
Our current fundraising goal is to purchase an LED sign to replace the sign at the end of the McKean driveway on McKennan’s Church Road.
